The Artist

****1/2

Silence sometimes says a lot more than a million of words....It has beauty, mystry, sometimes peace and sometimes loneliness...but sometimes its accentuates the feel, the touch, the emotions ! Words can distract, silence doesnt.

The artist said it all !!Beautiful and very neat ..

The infectious smile of " George Valentine " really made me smile, his frown made me angry, his passion made me lose my mind, and his humour tickled me from inside... and this all happened very very silently.

Peppy Miller character was also justified very well ... Bubbly, romantic, vivacious..absolutely black and white.. the girl with a beauty spot.

Besides, George's lil dog was the cutest... along with the twist where George was trying to committ suicide and Peppy is fanatically hitting the car...and Booomm !

Very well deserved Oscar star...!!

In All, a must watch and a treat for all theatre lovers...!!

Kahaani

***1/2

Well, The movie could hold my grip from the very moment I could see the sansitizing city of Calcutta with some heart throbbing scenes flashed in trailors....Arnab Bagchi and Bidya Bagchi characters got famous before the movie could release.

So there was a lot of excitement already built around these two characters, the oo-la-la girl, the thrilling plot and respective 007 predictions ..and to some extent the film could live upto the expectations !!

Loved the way Kolkatta was showcased, every bit of common life.. great direction ! Kudos. The character of Bidya Bagachi very well portrayed by Vidya Balan - very strong, sharp, rigid, sensitive, attractive and lively. Beautiful as well :)
Really liked some scenes where the local cops were struggling hard with computers, The local ponunciation of 'B'idya, the dark humour of the contract killer..who was so calm and relaxed and smiling while killing his targets on just receiving a MMS/SMS.

The climax was a tad disappointing for me.. but guess it was just me.. as I had already played my detective instincts crossing all CID episodes... starting from Bidya Bagchi only killed her husband or she was just imagining every thing or it was a plot planned by her own husband and herself to give him a clean chit etc etc etc...!!

And last but not the least, the sugarrryyy syrup dipped, the most soothing Bengali song sung by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan was a treat to ears :) Sweeeet !
